Study Sessions
Informal discussion-based Study Sessions (in-person and virtual) engage our movement community, encourage autonomy, and support self care and development. Appropriate for ANY practitioner, client or student, these group sessions will increase your movement knowledge and feel empowered. Recordings available to all participants.

This study session is designed for practitioners, individuals with scoliosis, and anyone experiencing a sense of spinal compression. Whether you're supporting clients or caring for your own body, you'll benefit from movement-based strategies that create space, ease, and alignment.
Through a blend of guided exercises, you’ll gain tools to relieve pain, improve posture, and promote better breath and body awareness.
In this session, we’ll explore:
Where and how to begin your decompression journey
Targeted movement strategies for scoliosis and spinal relief
Proprioception tools to enhance body awareness and support effective practice
These techniques aren’t just for those with scoliosis—they’re for everyone who wants to feel taller, lighter, and more at home in their body.

Teacher
Training
The Movement Study offers a Comprehensive Pilates Certification to new Pilates students and Crossover Program to certified instructors looking to refine their teaching skills. Taught by TMS co-founders Stephanie Lang Bittner and Monica Mordaunt, this teacher training program is a nurturing and supportive program that guides and mentors students on their movement education journey.
Each trainee is mentored in a non-competitive atmosphere to foster curiosity and be encouraged to find their own voice as an instructor.

Learn Pilates choreography through a holistic, brain-based and proprioceptive lens. Hone in and understand the “whys” of Pilates exercises while learning to create customized client sessions and group classes. Designed to challenge students with out-of-the box thinking and use Pilates equipment as a tool to integrate the TMS movement principles.

Fall 2025
Gives Pilates equipment certified participants an opportunity to dive into specialized topics of gait mechanics, hypermobility, scoliosis, balance therapy, and strategies for business growth. Each topic is divided into separate workshops allowing participants to move at their own pace.
