Fall at TMS

There’s so much to look forward to at TMS this fall. We’re kicking things off with our one-year anniversary party on September 19th, and we’d love for you to celebrate with us. Our fall education series begins with community favorite Nadine Hildebrand, who’s bringing back her strength-focused pop-up class to energize your practice on September 10th. In October, Jane Olson will lead a Study Session on Enhancing Hip Integrity, and in November we’re honored to host Leila Kester for a special workshop on the Thoracic Spine.

EDUCATION

October Study Session

Enhancing Hip Integrity

with Jane Olson

Wednesday, October 15th 5pm-6pm  $40

Strong, pain-free hips are the foundation of efficient, confident movement. In this Study Session, Jane Olson, founder of Illuminey Body, will guide us through the essential elements of hip integrity—alignment, neuromuscular timing, and balanced recruitment—and show how they work together to create stability, ease, and long-term joint health.

Jane brings a wealth of specialized study to her teaching, including Common Hip Pathologies with Jeremy Laverdure, DPT and Cara Reeser, Neuroscience of Mindbody Therapy with Dr. Christine Caldwell, and is a certified Franklin Method Fascia Trainer for the Hip, Leg, and Foot.

You’ll then put these concepts into practice with targeted, progressiveexercises designed for both practitioners in the studio and movers at home.

This is a fantastic opportunity to deepen your knowledge of hip health and walk away with practical tools you can integrate into your own movement practice or teaching right away

More about Leila's Thoracic Freedom workshop...

The mobility of the thoracic spine influences posture, breath, weight distribution, head positioning, and limb movement. Conversely, common postural habits like forward head, posteriorly tilted pelvis, or hyperextended legs can limit this mobility, affecting posture, gait, and overall movement efficiency. Our ribcage houses the lungs and heart, and the way we relate to this area carries an emotional dimension that can shape how we move. It also invites the question: does the container move the content, or is it the reverse?

In this workshop, you’ll learn:

  • Simple exercises on both the Mat and Equipment to increase thoracic mobility and awareness for yourself and your clients

  • How Pilates can guide movement, expand range, and build strength to control it

  • Techniques to refine observation and cueing, both hands-on and verbally

  • Ways to integrate thoracic mobility into posture and gait patterns

Addressing thoracic mobility not only improves functional movement but also supports better breathing, alignment, and overall efficiency in daily life.
